The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bala Ali Lukshi has been declared winner of the Dass State consituency bye-election in Bauchi state.

The INEC chief returning officer, professor Ahmed Muhammad, announced that Lukshi scored 12,299 votes to defeat his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP opponent, Bala Lawan Wandi who polled 11,062 votes. The victory margin is 1,237 votes.
The results were announced less than two hours after hoodlums attempted to set ablaze the collation centre where the results of the bye-election were being taken from the different wards in Dass local government area.
