Bauchi State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has sought the collaboration of traditional rulers in Dass Local Government, for a peaceful conduct of the forthcoming State Assembly Bye Election in the area.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said this at the Emir’s Palace during a courtesy visit.
Abdullahi, urged the traditional rulers to enlighten their Subjects to maintain peace and order, during the election.
The Emir of Dass, Usman Bilyaminu, assured the Resident Electoral Commissioner of a violence free elections.
The Bye-Election in Dass Local Government is to fill the vacuum created, following the death of Musa Mantai, a member representing Dass in the Bauchi State Assembly who was killed in August, by Unknown gunmen.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed 5th December for the conduct of the Bye Election.
