Reports from the Nigerian National Assembly say the Upper legislative chamber, the Senate had been thrown into a rowdy session after its President, Godswill Akpabio announced the minority leadership.

Akpabio named Senator Abba Moro representing Benue South under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as been the Minority Leader of the Tenth Senate.
The Senate President also announced Osita Ngwu of Enugu West under PDP as the Minority Chief Whip.

The appointments seemed not to have gone down well with some of Senators.
Senator Ben Nwoye, representing Anambra North district is quoted as lamenting: “We are not your slaves …..”,
challenging the Senate President to suspend him.
