Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf is currently heading to Shanono Local Government Area where following reports of bandits reportedly staged renewed attacks on several communities late Monday night.
Initial security briefings indicate that at least 25 residents were said to have been abducted during the assault, sparking urgent concerns across the State.
The Governor has vowed that such incidents will not be allowed to take root in Kano State, prompting his departure on Tuesday morning, to the troubled communities.
Governor Yusuf left the State capital backed by heavily armed Joint security team drawn from the Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigerian Air Force, heading directly to the front line areas.
Before setting out, the Governor addressed members of the Joint Taskforce, warning that under no circumstances should bandits be allowed to gain a foothold in Kano or infiltrate its borders.
He stressed that insecurity remains alien to the State’s culture of peace and stability, urging operatives to remain alert, decisive, and uncompromising in the execution of their duties.

Governor Yusuf assured the personnel that his administration is finalizing an enhanced welfare package designed to keep them motivated and equipped for sustained operations across vulnerable areas.
Security commanders, including officials from the Army’s 3rd Brigade, the Kano Air Force Base, the State Police Command, and the Civilian Joint Task Force, have already established a temporary operational Base in Shanono to coordinate rapid-response activities.
The governor is also expected to visit several high-risk communities during the tour, where he will meet traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth groups to de-escalate tensions and restore public confidence.
As part of proactive measures, the State government has ordered the deployment of additional surveillance drones, expanded night patrols along rural routes, and intensified intelligence-sharing among security agencies to prevent further kidnappings.
Governor Yusuf reiterated that security operatives must remain on their toes at all times, insisting that the government will not tolerate any lapse that allows bandits to threaten the safety of Kano residents.
