Kada Stars male and female teams have emerged as champions of the 2022 marbisel national under-21 hockey championship in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Kada Stars male team defeated team Oyo in the final by 3-0 while their female counterpart also humbled Team Rivers to lift the giant trophy and prize money of one point five million naira
Kada Stars’ male team successfully defended the crown they won last year, drawing just once and winning all of their remaining matches while their girls made up for a slip in the finals last year.

It was double for Kaduna state but the MVP award was shared between Kaduna state and Rivers state as last year’s winner in the boy’s category, John Peter from team Kada won it again while last year’s winner Queen Esther formerly of team Rivers but now with Kada Stars lost the MVP to Gloria Jordan of team Rivers.
Head Coach of team Kada is delighted the championship is yielding results. Already, 8 players from last year’s edition are now in the national team while the tournament chairman is pushing for an under-16 national championship.
The facilitator of the championship, Francis Alagoa, presented medals and trophies to the winning teams and deserving players.
