The Kaduna State government has announced a statewide restriction of movement ahead of the Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, 19th October 2024.

The restriction, which will be enforced from 6 AM to 7 PM, is aimed at ensuring peaceful and orderly conduct of the Councillorship and Chairmanship elections.

According to a statement signed by Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, only essential workers with proper identification and clearance are exempted from the restrictions.

The Kaduna government urged residents to avoid any actions that could disrupt public peace while emphasizing that security agencies have been deployed across the state to enforce compliance.

The public is further encouraged to report any suspicious activities or threats to law and order to the security agencies.
