The Kaduna State Government has announced that it has invested more than N1 billion in scholarships, student loans and educational support programmes within the last three years of the Governor Uba Sani’s administration.

The government noted that the intervention is aimed at expanding access to higher education and easing the financial burden on students across the State.

For Fatima Mohammed, a Basic Midwifery student at the College of Nursing Sciences, Kaduna, the State government’s scholarship support has provided a lifeline, reducing the financial pressure on her family and helping her pursue her educational goals.

She is among thousands of beneficiaries of the Kaduna State Scholarship Scheme, which has assisted students pursuing higher education in institutions across the country.

According to the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, education remains a key pillar of Governor Uba Sani’s human capital development agenda.

Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, Professor Yahaya Ibrahim, said more than 21,000 students studying in over 40 higher institutions have benefited from the programme.

He explained that Kaduna has emerged as one of the leading States in the country by operating both scholarship and student loan schemes on a broad scale.

The Kaduna State Government has said that the investments are aimed at developing a skilled and educated workforce, promoting innovation and ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent deserving students from attaining higher education.
