For many residents of Kaduna, daily commuting often means long hours in traffic, high transport costs, and unreliable services. But that may soon change, as the state government moves closer to delivering its first Bus Rapid Transit system.

That assurance was given by the State Governor, Uba Sani, after a meeting with officials of the French development agency in Abuja, where he reviewed progress on the state’s 24-kilometre BRT corridor.

The Kaduna State Government says work on its Bus Rapid Transit, BRT project, is progressing steadily, with groundbreaking expected before the end of June.

The project is being developed in partnership with the French Development Agency, aimed at transforming urban mobility in the city.

When completed, the system is expected to serve at least 160,000 passengers daily, with over 100,000 residents having direct access to the BRT corridor.
