The Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Kalu, has been speaking on why the South eastern part of Nigeria deserves the Senate presidency in the next political dispensation, despite delivering few votes to the All Progressives Congress during the general election.
President-elect, Bola Tinubu received the least number of votes in the South-East during the February 25 presidential election.
Speaking with State house correspondents on Tuesday after a Private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Kalu who is a former governor of Abia State, said a south-east Senate presidency will usher in peace and further unite the country.

He said that it is not the number of votes that counts, but the unity of the country should be paramount.
