The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has unanimously affirmed Governor Abba Yusuf as the party’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
At a ceremony attended by national party officials and representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Governor Yusuf said his return in 2027 would bring more meaningful development to Kano State.
The indoor sports hall of the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano was filled with APC supporters and party members who gathered to witness the affirmation of Governor Abba Yusuf as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

An excited Governor Yusuf said his return in 2027 would accelerate infrastructure and socio-economic development across the state.
The governor also commended party members for embracing the consensus arrangement in other elective positions, saying the move has further strengthened unity within the party.

With the affirmation concluded, the path is now clear for Governor Yusuf and other candidates seeking seats in the state and National Assemblies.
