Kano State House of Assembly has asked the state government to upgrade the vocational training center at the Gwarmai Kunchi Local Government Area to a technical college to assist students to become self-employed.
This followed a motion by the member representing Kunchi/Tsanyawa Constituency, Garba Yau, who wants the center converted into a science and technical college.
The Assembly, however, resolved to call on the state government to upgrade the center to a technical college to produce technicians, electrical, and building engineers among others.

The Assembly also called on the Kano State government to upgrade Abasawa Hospital in the Geezawa Local Government Area which has no single bed to admit patient.
Speaker of the Assembly, Hamisu Cidari, referred to the public accounts committee report of the Auditor General, Ahmad Tijjani, on finances of the 44 local government areas’ 2019 pursuant to the state local government law for further legislative action.
The Committee is given three months to report back to the House
