Kano State Ministry of Education has extended the resumption dates for all public, private primary, and secondary schools in the state by one week.
The Commissioner for Education, Muhammad Sanusi Kiru, said the one-week extension is aimed at normalizing the state’s academic calendar, after series of disruptions, resulting from the effect of the COVID- 19 pandemic.

This was contained in a statement issued by the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Yusuf.
According to the statement, all students of boarding schools are to resume on Sunday, 12th September, as against 5th September, while the day schools are to resume on Monday 13th September, as against 6th September, as earlier announced.
The commissioner, expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for the support and understanding they are according to the ministry, hoping that the support will be sustained.
