Kano State Government has warned residents and visitors coming into the State for the Eid al-Fitr celebration to conduct themselves responsibly and should not constitute a security threat during and after the celebrations.
Director General on Media and Publicity to the State Governor, Sanusi Bature in a chat with ait.live said security agencies have been detailed to beam their searchlights on hot spots within the State.
Kano State in the North West region of Nigeria is home to visitors and tourists especially during festive sessions like Sallah celebrations where they come to witness the popular durbar festival, one of the Northern Nigeria’s highly cherished events.
As good as this event is to the State due to its social and cultural potentials, Governor Abba Yusuf’s Media aide however warns residents and visitors alike not to take advantage of the period to engage in crime and criminal activities, or disrupt the prevailing peace and security in the State.
Already, the presence of the Police personnel is being felt around strategic locations in the Kano metropolis, an indication of a security beef up for the Eid al-Fitr festive season.
