Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf says religious leaders have great roles to play in addressing cases of insecurity and other social crimes in the State, hence his call for collaboration to keep the State safe.
Briefing Government House Correspondents after a closed door security meeting, the Governor said the session highlighted strategies to be deployed to address the rising cases of drug and illicit use of substances among the youths.
Governor Abba Yusuf, his deputy Aminu Gwazo and representatives of security agencies in the State, met with Imams of Friday mosque across the Forty four Local Government Areas of the State, aimed at addressing security and economic issues affecting the people.
After about two and half hours of deliberations, the Governor told Journalists that his administration is seeking greater collaborations with all critical stakeholders in resolving the current security and socio-economic challenges.
Governor Yusuf assures that measures have been taken to distribute some food items to residents ahead of the Ramadan fasting to cushion the effects of the hardship on vulnerable families.
