Emir of Karaye in Kano State, North-West Nigeria, His Royal Highness, Muhammad Mahraz has called on district heads, village heads, ward heads, and Imams across his Emirate to intensify efforts to ensure that children are enrolled in schools.
The Emir made the call during the flag-off ceremony for school enrolment drive 2026 held at Karaye Emirate Council of Kano State.
The ceremony attracted stakeholders from the Universal Basic Education, SUBEB, Traditional leaders and members of the community.
The Emir of Karaye stated that the purpose of the gathering was to improve the enrolment of children in schools across Kano State.

The Kano State Commissioner of Education charged everyone to put hands on deck to make sure all children that are out-of-school are returned to the classroom and children who attain the age of six are enrolled in school.
Kano State has nearly 800,000 out-of-school children.
