Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has appealed to residents of the state to make their children available to healthcare providers for vaccination against polio and other diseases.
Governor Yusuf who said this during the flag-off of the vaccination programme in Dawakin Kudu local government area of the state said, over six hundred cases of cholera had also been recorded in the state between January and September 2024.
Kano state is one of the eighteen high-risk states with the polio virus in Nigeria, hence the state has been making concerted efforts to reduce the spread through various programmes.

At the flag off vaccination in Dawakin Kudu Local government area of the state, Governor Abba Yusuf appealed to residents to present their children to receive the vaccines and contribute towards wiping out polio from the state.
The governor called on residents to adopt good hygiene practices in order to stay healthy.
Abba Yusuf alongside his deputy, Aminu Gwarzo and other top government functionaries, thereafter proceeded on inspection of ongoing road construction projects in other parts of the state.
