Katsina Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service says it has generated 179 million nairas as revenue for the month of November which is an increase of about 58 million nairas from the previous month.
Comptroller of the Command, Dalha Wada who made the figures public also said the command during the period under review, intercepted smuggled items with a Duty Paid Value, DPV, of 119 million nairas with 4 suspected smugglers arrested.
Wada attributed the increase in revenue generation to the high level of professionalism exhibited by officers and men of the command in collaboration with effective synergy with other security agencies.

Among the highest seizures made within the period under review include 973 kilograms of exhaust fibre catalyst with a duty paid value of 75 million nairas higher than the 241 bags of foreign rice with a duty paid value of 7 million nairas indicating a reduction in rice smuggling.
Wada said alongside the seizures, four suspects were arrested and granted administrative bail pending the conclusion of investigations.
He promised the command will intensify its anti-smuggling war, especially with the year coming to an end and political activities beginning to take shape.
