The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has threatened to sue the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, over the killing of 10 indigenes.
Masari, who was reacting to the incident, said the action will be taken, to serve as a deterrent to others because the incident has assumed a frightening proportion in the state.
The warning contained in a statement signed by the Governor’s Director-General, Media, Abdu Labaran, stated that the government will henceforth not condone any more of such incidents.
He specifically condemned the often recurring senseless killings of his citizens, through reckless driving, by the operatives of the Nigerian Customs Service.

The Governor’s position is coming in the wake of the recent death of ten people, who were run over, by an operative of the Nigerian Customs Service, driving an official vehicle in Jibia Local Government Area, on August 9.
The Governor, while extending his condolences to the families of the deceased and those who sustained injuries, warned that the government will not fold its arms, while law-abiding citizens are killed with impunity, by the reckless government agents, who are expected to protect them.
