Katsina Insecurity: Terrorists kill five, injure three In Danmusa LGA

Terrorists operating in the forest area of Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State have shot and killed Five passengers and injured three others when they opened fire on a vehicle on the YanTumaki – Danmusa road in Katsina State for refusing to stop.

A source in the area told AIT news that, it occurred between 7:am Saturday morning, March 12.

He added that, the attack occured between two vehicles whose passengers were mostly coming from Benin, Edo State while one, was coming back from Abuja where he had gone to supply chickens.

It was gathered that the passengers were indigenes of Gobirawa and Kaigar Malamai of Katsina State.

The source added that, one of the vehicles left Yantumaki for Danmusa town in the morning as the passengers, spent the night in Yantumaki because they arrived there in the night.

Subsequently, in the morning, they boarded the vehicle for Danmusa town from where they were to take motorcycles to their villages.

He said, the vehicle was attacked a few minutes after leaving Yantumaki after the terrorists sighted the vehicle and tried to stop it but the driver refused to stop, which made the terrorists to open fire on them.

The terrorists however fled the scene after the accident making some members of the community to alert the police in Danmusa who came and picked the corpses and took the three wounded persons to the hospital.

He said, they have since buried the dead while the remaining three persons are receiving medical attention and responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, the Katsina State command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the accident but said, details will be provided subsequently upon the completion of investigations.
