Katsina Police arrest 4 gun runners who supply bandits Ak-47

Police in Katsina State have arrested 4 gun runners, including the biological son of the ring leader of the syndicate, 40-year-old Ibrahim Abdullahi, and recovered the total sum of 3.4 million Naira, being proceeds from the transactions.

The spokesman of the Police in Katsina State, Superintendent of Police, Gambo Isah, who paraded the suspects, alongside 7 others, said the money recovered, was concealed underneath two motorcycles.

Parading the 4 suspects before Newsmen, Gambo Isah said, a team of Police Mobile Personnel on patrol along the Tsaskiya Ummadau road, in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, accosted them.

He said, they were from the Rijana Forest, located along the Kaduna- Abuja Express Road, where they went to deliver the guns to one he described as, notorious bandits’ leader, Tukur Rabiu, alias “NASHARME,” and got payment for the consignment.

The 40-year-old suspected leader of the 4-member gunrunner gang, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confessed to having supplied so many AK 47 rifles to different bandits’ camps in the country.

According to him, he gets 100,000 Naira commission per Ak 47 rifle, successfully delivered to any bandits’ leader, or group.

He also named his supplier to be Abu Radai from the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, who is also on the wanted list of the Police in the state.

Other arrests included, 4 bandits’ informants, made up of two women, a member of the syndicate of bandits, kidnappers and cattle rustlers.

The command promised to sustain the tempo on its onslaught against banditry and other crimes in the state.
