A 38-year-old Vice-principal of the Community Secondary School Kadandani in Rimi Area Council of Katsina State, Ibrahim Saleh, is in Police net for allegedly raping and impregnating his 12-year-old female student.

The result of the act is the delivery of a baby boy by the victim, through a caesarean operation at the General Hospital Katsina.

From January 9 to the 14, 2021, the Katsina State Police Command says, it has arrested eight suspected rapists in six reported cases across the state.

38-year-old Vice-principal of the Community Secondary School Kadandani in Rimi Area Council, Ibrahim Saleh, is among them.

The supect who was paraded alongside other groups of suspected criminals by the Command Police Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah, did not deny the crime.

According to the suspect and Vice-principal, Ibrahim Saleh, he is married to 3 wives, and usually lures the girl with 200, 300, and sometimes 500 Naira before having his way with the girl, who eventually gave birth to a baby boy

He however attributed his act to the devil’s handiwork and pleaded for mercy.

While parading the suspect alongside other groups of suspected criminals, the spokesman of the command, Gambo Isah, said the command is worried about the recent rise in rape cases.

He added that it has become imperative to call on members of the general public, especially parents, to always look after their wards.

He says the command is collaborating with relevant stakeholders to curtail the menace.

The incident is coming just as the state government announced recently through a circular, ordering all Primary and Secondary schools to reopen on January 25, 2021.
