All is now set for the conduct of Local Government Council elections in Katsina State, North-West Nigeria on Monday.

This follows the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials to the 34 local government areas.

Chairman of Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission, KTSIEC, Ibrahim Bako, who said this during the distribution exercise, also confirmed that all security arrangements have been concluded, to make the exercise free, fair and credible.

At the Katsina branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN the sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials, including ballot papers and result sheets were distributed, in the presence of party agents. They had duly inspected and crosschecked the items for the 34 local government areas.

The materials distributed include Forms EC, 8A, B, C and E, which were in about 334 cartons, containing booklets for both the Chairmanship and Councillorship ballot papers.

Bako said the early distribution was to enable the materials to reach the areas in good time, so that accreditation and voting will commence appropriately.

ait.live gathered that about 10,000 adhoc staff have been recruited for the conduct of the election.
