To help the incoming administration hit the ground running and have effective governance, the Katsina State Council of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, is advising Governor-elect Dikko Radda, to imbibe the culture of saving.
The Chairman of the TUC, Muntari Ruma, gave the advice at the 5th Triennial State Delegates Conference to elect new leaders to pilot the affairs of the union for the next four years.

The Trade Union Congress, TUC Chairman, Muntari Ruma, speaking during the conference with theme: The Role Of Labour In Democracy, said the agenda the union is setting for the incoming administration, is to ensure the delivery of good governance in the state.
Following the large backlog of unpaid gratuities to retired civil servants in the state, Ruma is also calling on the incoming administration on the need for the elongation of the services of workers in the state, due to the forthcoming mass retirement of civil servants.
Both the Chairman of the Katsina State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Hussaini Hamisu and the Special Adviser on Labour and Productivity to the governor, Tanimu Saulawa, commended the TUC for ensuring effective leadership, which has translated to the workers having a good time in the state.
Governor Aminu Masari who was represented by the state’s Head Of Service, Idris Tune, appreciated the efforts made by the Trade Union Congress, to put the government on its toes to do the right things for the workers always.
A particular mention by Masari, was the cooperative role the civil servants played during the just concluded 2023 General Elections, saying, they have given him a parting gift for life.
The one-day conference is expected to produce leaders that will pilot the affairs of the Congress for the next four years, as the current leadership’s tenure elapses.
