Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has visited the Federal Teaching Hospital in Birnin Kebbi to pay his respects to security personnel killed in a deadly ambush by the Lakurawa terror group.

The attack, which took place Tuesday night in Giro Masa, Shanga Local Government Area, claimed the lives of nine soldiers and one police officer.

The Governor, received by the hospital’s Head of Clinical Services, Ashiru Ladan, visited the mortuary where the bodies of the officers were laid. He also stopped at the Accident and Emergency ward to check on two injured soldiers currently undergoing treatment.

Reports indicate that during the Tuesday night raid, the gunmen also set two military gun trucks ablaze. Governor Idris has pledged his administration’s continued and unwavering support to security agencies to ensure the state remains safe.
