Kebbi re-introduces Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise

Governor Nasir Idris says his administration has reintroduced the Monthly environmental programme exercise because of its peculiar importance to human health and longevity. Nasir disclosed this in Birnin Kebbi.

The Governor who was represented by his deputy Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida identified safe and clean environment as the most profound measures and preventive medicine against diseases and illnesses.

He emphasized that Clean environment and clean drinkable water are highly necessary to the wellbeing of people to reduce airborne and waterborne diseases.

The Governor cautioned the people against the dangers and hazards of unclean surroundings saying that illnesses are preventable if communities keep clean environment and drink clean water.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Environment, Musa Tungulawa, said the
exercise would be strictly carried out in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi, and in all the local government areas of the state”, he announced.

Tungulawa made it clear that Governor Nasir Idris has attached much importance to environmental matters and attainment of absolute hygiene among the citizenry, giving the Ministry of Environment necessary support to reach the target objective.

“On the last Saturday of every month, the exercise would be strictly carried out in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi, and in all the local government areas of the state”.
