The Kebbi State Government says it has treated over 23,000 mentally related cases between 2023 to date.
The Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sani Aliyu, disclosed this at a Pree conference in Birninkebbi, the State capital.
He added that, “we are leveraging religion to sustain peaceful coexistence, and establish linkages for human and physical development.”
On the issue of Almajiri, the Commissioner said the State government has adopted an integrated education approach with the responsibility to regulate the conduct of Almajiri training, streamline the concept of Almajiri education, and improve the educational system.
He explained that government is carrying out a demography of Islamiyya and Almajiri schools in the State, to identify the age and number of pupils, their origin, parents, and their living conditions for appropriate action.
