The Government of Kebbi State, has recorded 2,208 cases of diarrhoea and vomitting in twenty, out of the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State.
The confirmed reported cases, are from January to July this year, during which 55 samples were taken and 26 turned out positive.

A report by the State’s Epidemic Response Team, also confirmed 146 deaths in the state.
The Head of the Team, Permanent Secretary and Chief Medical Director of the State’s General Hospital, Dr Aminu Bunza, who briefed Governor Atiku Bagudu and his Deputy Samaila Dabai, attributed the epidemic to poor personal and environmental hygiene, as well as open defecation.
Dr Bunza, stressed the need for sectoral collaboration of stakeholders, as part of measures to curtail the spread of the menace in the state.
