All victims abducted in the recent Benin–Lagos Expressway attack have been rescued, according to the Edo State Police Command.
The Command spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, says the operation, ordered by CP Monday Agbonika, combined tactical deployments, intelligence-led tracking, aerial surveillance, and coordinated bush-combing across the corridor.
He added that, sustained pressure forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives, who have now received medical care and reunited with their families.

In a related breakthrough, four earlier abducted victims were also rescued from the Imiegba forest in Agenebode, bringing the total number of freed victims to nine.
The Command says security has been reinforced along the expressway, with ongoing operations to hunt down the suspects and prevent further attacks.
