The Federal government says no going back in the concessioning of kings collegs to old boys association of the college, after it met with unions in the trade union congress, TUC on monday, led by its secretary general Nuhu Toro.
The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, at the meeting assured the unions that no member of staff will be dismissed and that the deployment of academic and non-academic staff will be handled in accordance with the Public Service Rules.
The Minister said the implementation of the arrangement for the King’s College Old Boys Association to continue managing the school would proceed, while a seven-member high-level committee would be constituted to consider further recommendations that could be incorporated into the agreement already signed.

He said the committee will comprise two representatives of the Federal Ministry of Education, including the Minister of State for Education and the Acting Permanent Secretary; one representative of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment; two senior-level representatives of the Trade Union Congress; and two representatives of the King’s College Old Boys Association.
The resumption of a new academic session initially scheduled for monday 14th september, has been stalled as unions directed students, parents and teachers to stay away from all federal government colleges, all federal boys or Federal girls college and federal Technical colleges.
