Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has flagged off the training on data collection in flood prone communities in Kogi State by the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission.
Governor Bello, who declared the training open at Government House Lokoja, wants said participants must make judicious use of the opportunity to be part of the solution to the perennial flood problem confronting parts of the state.

Flooded homes, destroyed Farm lands and livelihoods are what residents of flood prone communities- experience every year.
There was no mechanism to plan for victims of flood until the establishment of Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission.
The four day training exercise is for fifty four enumerators whose responsibility is to engage flood prone communities in Kogi State to generate data which will be useful in addressing future flood incidents.
