Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has declared three days of mourning in honour of the late former Governor, Ibrahim Idris, popularly called “Ibro.”
Ododo directed that the national and Kogi State flags be flown at half-mast across government offices and other designated public institutions throughout the mourning period.
This was contained in a condolence statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, on Sunday.
According to Fanwo, Governor Ododo had earlier visited the Abuja residence of the late former Governor, where he commiserated with members of the Idris family.
The Governor also declared that Ibrahim Idris would receive a state burial, with the Kogi State Government taking full responsibility for the burial expenses and making the necessary arrangements for his final rites.
