Kogi state Governor, Usman Ododo, has sworn in 17 commissioners, assigned them portfolios and advised them to lead by example.
At the ceremony in the state capital, Lokoja. Ododo promised his administration will put the people first with emphasis on service, transparency, probity and accountability.
The governor reminded the newly sworn in Commissioners that they are neither the best nor the most deserving of the over four million Kogi people, urging them to serve the people sacrificially.
Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Aliyu, also advised the newly sworn in commissioners and political appointees to discharge their duties with the people in mind, adding that the legislative arm will effectively carry out its oversight functions.

Stare commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Deedat Ozigi, who spoke on behalf of the commissioners appreciated the governor and promised to deliver quality service to the people of the state.
The new administration in Kogi State has introduced a reward system that tracks and evaluates the performance of all officials to gauge and determine progress made by the government over time.
