Kogi Labour Union Demands Unpaid Gratuities At Workers’ Day Celebration

The Nigerian Labour Congress Chairman, Kogi state, Gabriel Amari has urged the State Government to promptly pay all outstanding gratuities to retired civil servants. He said this at the 2026 May Day rally in Lokoja Kogi State

Hundreds of workers from various unions under the Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress gathered in Lokoja for this year’s Workers’ Day celebration, using the occasion to present pressing demands to the state government.

The state government assured workers that their demands would be reviewed, with commitments aimed at improving efficiency and strengthening the civil service.

Workers say better welfare packages, safer working conditions, and prompt payment of entitlements will not only improve morale but also enhance productivity and support good governance across Kogi State.
