The Kogi State NMA said that , for the government’s actions towards health workers, the ongoing strike by resident doctors is justifiable.
However speaking on the welfare of Doctors on the payroll of Kogi state, Omakoji said that Yahaya Bello is their beloved bride, as it concerns their welfare.
But on the security situation, there are concerns that budgetary allocations meant for the health sector, have been channeled to the security, a situation that worries the doctors, adding that their members are now subjects of kidnap attacks.
As the government intensifies efforts at securing the citizens, the NMA wants the doctors to key into the local security arrangements in their respective domains, to contribute their quota to their community policing.
The NMA Annual General meeting, focused on the deteriorating security situation in the country and its multiplier effects on health care delivery.
