Matthew Joseph, who hails from Kajuru Local Government, Southern Kaduna in Kaduna State, admits to bringing the children to different families in Kogi State to shelter them, given the herders’ attack on their community, which rendered them homeless.
His supposed good intention is landing him in trouble, as the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, narrates how the discovery of the children was made.
The Kogi State government has concluded plans to repatriate the children back to Kaduna State, just as the NSCDC commends Governor Yahaya Bello’s role in the whole process.
As the suspect heads to court to answer questions for his action, despite claiming he intended to help the children, the NSCDC says, its intelligence team has its eyes all around, to fish out criminally minded citizens for prosecution.
