The Kogi State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has arrested two suspects involved in vandalization of electrical cables and fittings at the Federal University, Lokoja.
State Commandant of the NSCDC, Suleiman Mafara who paraded the suspects at the state command said the other suspects have been impersonating the Abuja electricity distribution company where they allegedly defrauded some members of the public.

In the wake of renewed insecurity in parts of the state, the commandant of the NSCDC, Kogi State, Suleiman Mafara said the command has redoubled its patrol and surveillance in the state.
This arrest, Mafara said, was a product of intelligence gathering as he narrates the level of involvement of the suspects.
The commandant says his men are more eager to rid the state of crimes and criminality.
While one of the suspects claimed the electrical fittings was brought to him by a fellow now at large, the other, Isah Abdul speaks on his level of involvement.
On the news making the rounds that a personnel of the NSCDC in Kogi State was involved in kidnapping for ransom, Mafara debunked the allegation, noting that the said person has been at large over the weeks.
Mafara called on members of the public to volunteer information to the corps, adding that useful information and intelligence sharing are critical to effective policing of the state.
