Kogi State Government has ordered the immediate reopening of the Zuma Eight two-eight mining site in Ankpa local government of the state with a call on the community to live peacefully with the mining company.
This was part of resolutions reached at a meeting between representatives of the host community and management of Eta Zuma industries Limited.
On 31st July 2023, Kogi state government shutdown zuma eight two eight mining site in Okobo-Enjema in Ankpa Local government following unresolved issues.
But after meeting with the management team of zuma eight two eight mining company and representatives of the host community at the instance of the Kogi state government, Governor Yahaya Bello ordered the immediate reopening of the mining site to enable resumption of business activities.

Kogi state commissioner for youths and sport who is from the community cautioned the youths against going contrary to the governor’s directives of restoring peace to the land.
Representatives of Zuma mining company expressed appreciation to the state government but want government to do something about the activities of illegal miners.
