The Kogi state associations of students have held a candle night in the state capital, Lokoja for late combat pilot Tolulope Arotile.
Miss Arotile died from injuries sustained in a road accident at NAF base, Kaduna recently.
She was buried in Abuja on Thursday.
The students said the vacuum created by her death will be difficult to fill.
They called on the government to immortalise her.
There were grim faces everywhere as representatives of student union bodies at the candle night procession moved along the streets to honour one of Kogi state’s most promising ambassador, late combat pilot officer tolulope Arotile.
Representatives of the various students and youth groups present called on the federal and state governments and the Nigerian Air Force to immortalize the late tolulope for her outstanding achievements in a short space of time.
They referred to her as a heroine, who has created a vacuum difficult to fill.
Representatives of the Arotile family thanked the students for identifying with them during the trying time.
The remains of 24- year old tolulope Arotile who was Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot was interred after a ceremony with full honours at the military cemetery, Abuja.
