The Korean Government has provided 12.4 million dollars for the construction of a solar mini-grid project in Nigeria.
The project is designed to meet the rising energy demand of rural communities across Nigeria.
It is the first green aid project since the Korean government began the official Development Assistance programme for Nigeria.
The project involves the construction of mini-grids in non- electrified rural communities near Abuja, the Nigerian capital to ensure stable power supply.
This is expected to boost the local economy, create jobs, fight poverty and improve the lives of Nigerians.
The Nigerian and Korean government signed an Agreement on the 27th of August, 2018 which laid the foundation for technological support and related policies in relation to the Nigeria Electrification project (NEP) supported by the world Bank.
