Kwara Guber Polls: INEC Declares Abdulrazaq Winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kwara State has declared Incumbent Governor of kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Winner of the 2023 Governorship Election in the state.

The Returning Officer for the Governorship Election in the State, Professor Isaac Itodo said Abdulrazaq having satisfied the requirements of the law polled a total of 273, 424 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Abdulahi Yaman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who polled a total of 155,490 votes

According to the Returning Officer for the Kwara State Governorship Election, Professor Isaac Itodo, the total votes cast was four hundred and seventy thousand, seven hundred and seventy-one votes, declaring Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled a total of 273, 424 votes as the winner .He defeated the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulahi Yaman who polled 155,490 votes

Itodo also maintained that the total valid votes in the state governorship election was four hundred and sixty thousand, four hundred and ninety-seven while ten thousand two hundred and seventy-four votes were rejected

Reacting to the announcement, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sunday Fagbemi described the election as true reflection of people’s choice while the Collation Agent of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Anu Ibiwoye says the party will re-examine the process

The collation and announcement of the governorship election result at the State INEC Headquarters was done amidst tight security with operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission also around to monitor any form of possible financial inducement.
