Reactions have continued to trail the controversy over the CBN naira redesign deadline expected to end Friday.
A visit by the AIT crew to some transaction spots Friday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital observed that some residents were still accepting the old naira notes, while others rejected the old naira notes following the deadline by the apex bank.
Residents were filled with anxiety as most were unsure of the state of the old naira notes after the Supreme Court ruling on the extension of the use of old naira notes.
In the midst of the controversy over the legal tender status of the old notes, commercial banks on their part are technically shutting down operations as a reaction to the growing public agitations against the scarcity of the new notes.

Efforts to get the reactions of bank managers were unsuccessful as most declined comments on the development.
Meanwhile , there is heightened fear among residents, as most of them are uncertain about the naira redesign policy.
