The resident doctors at the University of Ilorin teaching hospital (UITH) in Kwara state, have joined the national body on a nationwide industrial action following the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum earlier issued to the government.
The state chairman of the resident doctors at the UITH Ilorin, Dr. Lanre Olosunde confirmed this while speaking with AIT at the union’s secretariat in Ilorin.
Olosunde noted that the reason for the strike action includes the non-payment of COVID-19 hazard inducement allowance to all health workers across the country despite repeated promises by the federal government.
He however maintained that members of the association have been instructed to attend to covid-19 patients at designated treatment centres.
