The Kwara State Government has embarked on the training of both private and public health practitioners on how to better manage tuberculosis disease in the state.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the State Capital, the Coordinator, Dr Floral Nwagabor noted that the training course is to enable Public Private Mix (PPM) with a view to putting an end to tuberculosis in Nigeria.
Nigeria currently accounts for the highest number of TB cases in the world and highest in Africa with over four hundred thousand people with the disease.

The Kwara State Project facilitator, Morenike Koyejo explained that the training will lead to increase in community participation in the search for TB patients in the state and Nigeria at large
Over three hundred health workers drawn from nine local government areas of the state are expected to be trained at the end of a week long exercise.
