The increase in cases of Gender Based Violence in the state has necessitated the organising of the sensitization programme by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to renew their commitment in ending all forms of Gender Based Violence (GBV) against women and girls in the State.

The Guest Lecturer who is also the Kwara State Coordinator of National Human Rights Commission, Jumoke Olaoye and others want government to be more committed to the fight against Gender Based Violence across the country.

The theme of the 2023 6-day activism against gender based violence is: “Invest To Prevent Violence Against Women And Girls”.
