Officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has responded to a distress call by residents of Ojuelegba, following the collapse of the balcony of a distressed building in the area.
The building had initially been marked for demolition before it was occupied by illegal squatters numbering about 30.

The building has been pulled down by the Building Control Agency officials in an exercise personally led and supervised by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, accompanied by the Special Adviser to Lagos state governor on Urban Planning, Hon. Ganiyu Adele, the Permanent Secretary, Arc. Folusho Dipe, General Manager, LASBCA, Engr. Biola Kosegbe, Director General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, and officials of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority
