The Lagos state police command has reiterated its commitment to the protection of residents in the state, assuring them that necessary measures have been put in place to forestall the break down of law and order.
According to the police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, the assurance is in line with indications of nationwide protests intended to begin on Monday, February 26, 2024.
Hundeyin further stated that the command intends to live up to its mandate of ensuring that no person or group of persons infringe on the rights of other Nigerians.
He says adequate security assets have been deployed to strategic locations encouraging Lagosians to go about their duties without fear of harassment or intimidation.
Issuing a warning to all intending protesters, the command says it will deal in accordance with the law with those found culpable.
