A kidnapped Lance Corporal and a civilian have been rescued by troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, during a clearance operation in Zamfara State.
The Joint Task Force North West, in a statement signed by its Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, said the rescue was carried out in the early hours of 29 July 2026, when troops on a fighting patrol raided a known terrorist enclave in Gwashi.
The victims are Lance Corporal Bashiru Labbo, who was abducted on 22 July along the Zuru–Anka Road, and Lauwali Dan Ada, a resident of Lasahola Village in Bukuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Both victims have been evacuated to a military facility for medical attention and administrative procedures.
The Joint Task Force says it will sustain offensive operations to dismantle terrorist hideouts and improve security across the North-West.
