Nigeria’s football community has bid farewell to one of its foundational figures, Ibrahim Galadima, who has been laid to rest in Kano State, North-West Nigeria.

The former chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, was honored with the Salat al-Janazah at the Fegee Central Mosque, drawing thousands of mourners from across the country.

From football administrators to political leaders and players, tributes poured in for a man widely regarded as a pillar of Nigerian football’s growth.

Among those in attendance were President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, representative of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, and Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa, alongside other notable figures in Nigerian football.

Describing his passing as a huge loss, Ibrahim Gusau said Galadima’s legacy goes beyond Nigeria, noting his influence in shaping football administration across the region.

Governor Abba Yusuf in representative capacity, joined by Ahmed Musa in his dual role as chairman of Kano Pillars F.C., said the late administrator’s contributions to the game would never be forgotten.

Late Ibrahim Galadima who facilitated the transition from NFA to NFF, passed away on Saturday, at the age of 78 after a prolonged illness, and was later buried at the Abature Cemetery in Kano.
