The news of the death of Nigerian legendary singer songwriter journalist human rights and social crusader Onyeka Onwenu has left many speechless.
Onyeka Onwenu aged 72 was said to have slumped after performing at a birthday ceremony on Monday July 30th 2024 before she was taken to the hospital where she eventually died on Monday night.
Until her death, Onwenu often called “Elegant Stallion” by her colleagues was a member of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN).
Onyeka Onwenu who hailed from Arondizuogu in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State released her first Album titled Endless Life in 1981.
She has to her credit songs such as One Love, Alleluya, Iyogogo, Bia Nulu, You and I, Ekwe, Dancing In The Sun among other evergreen works
