Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara presided over the swearing-in of Caretaker Committee Chairmen for the 23 local government areas.
Their appointments comes two days after the expiration of the three-year tenure of elected council officials including chairmen, vice chairmen, and councillors in the state.

The swearing-in of the 23 Caretaker Committee Chairmen is coming after they were screened and their appointments confirmed by the Victor Oko-Jumbo led State House of Assembly following their nomination by Governor Fubara.
